California State Bar Reports a Record High Bar Exam Pass Rate

The California State Bar has released results of the October 2020 bar exam reporting a record high pass rate. 74% of first time-applicants passed. This exam was the State’s first online remotely administered exam and over 9,000 examinees sat for the exam, the largest group since 2013. It was also the first exam graded under the new reduced score of 1390, reduced from 1440 in July 2020. See State Bar of California.
