Librarians Celebrate Funding Bill

Congress has passed a major funding bill supporting libraries. On December 19th, the House of Representatives passed the Museum and Library Services Act, which reauthorizes the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through 2025. The bill passed the Senate on December 4thand was signed by the President on December 31st. The IMLS advances and supports libraries and museums through grants. The legislation includes funding for libraries on tribal lands, disaster preparedness, and data-driven tools to assess library services. See American Libraries Magazine.
