Stark Disparity in Women Partner Pay
Posted Dec 11, 2018
A new compensation survey shows that women in law firms earn 53% less than male counterparts. Legal consulting firm Major, Lindsey & Africa reports that on average, male partners earned $959,000, while women earned $627,000. Almost 75% of the variation results from credit for business origination and difference in billing rates. The survey is based on 1,390 responses out of over 60,000 surveys distributed to partners at large and mid-sized firms. See Debra Cassens Weiss, ABA Journal .
