Supreme Court Widens Reach of Sales Tax for Online Retailers

The Supreme Court, in South Dakota v Wayfair , decided that sales tax must be collected by all online retailers. This is deemed a victory for brick and mortar stores and states which have lost revenue by failure of online sellers to collect sales tax. States are expected to react within the next year  by retooling their collection systems. See NPR, WSJ
