Oral Argument Begins in Union Dues Case

The Supreme Court heard fiery arguments in a case that could gut the influence of public unions. At issue is a 1977 case that required non-union members to contribute their ‘fair share’ to unions that provided representation to them. The newest Justice, Neil Gorsuch, is expected to be the swing vote in an equally divided court.  A summary of the argument is presented here.
