California Legislature Passes Budget Plan

The California Legislature approved a $183.2 billion budget package that raises school funding, expands a tax credit for the working poor and gives the Capitol more oversight over University of California finances. Governor Brown is expected to sign the plan into law before the start of the new fiscal year July 1st. See the California Finance Department’s budget website.
