Archives of Sexuality & Gender; LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940 (Part I)

This collection has primary sources on social, political, health, and legal issues impacting LGBTQ communities around the world. Rare and unique content from newsletters, papers, government documents, manuscripts, pamphlets, and other types of primary sources sheds light on the gay rights movement, activism, the HIV/AIDS crisis, and more.  There are also historical documents published in more than 35 countries, with over 15 languages represented.  Documents span from 1940 to 2014, with the bulk from 1950 to 1990.

Gale World Scholar: Latin America and the Caribbean

This resource provides access to select historical papers from Mexico, Brazil, and Central America-mostly in the original language.

There is also access to select materials from the FBI File on the American Churchwomen Killed in El Salvador, December 1980. Please click on this link for a brief summary of the incident. This collection from the FBI file includes "State Department, FBI, and El Salvadoran government memoranda, correspondence, specimen analyses, photographs of weapons, field reports, newspaper clippings, witness statements, and polygraph examination reports. In addition, there are requests for information by the victims' families to both the U.S. and El Salvadoran governments."

Making Of Modern Law: Foreign; Comparative and International Law; 1600-1926

Coverage is primarily from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, but there are also several hundred classics in European international law since the seventeenth century.

The Foreign Law component features foreign legal treatises from a variety of countries, covering the national and sub-national (e.g., provincial) laws or jurisdictions. Because the term "treatise" is more of a common-law category, the equivalent works in civil-law systems may have other names such as commentaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, monographs, or festschriften.

Making Of Modern Law: Primary Sources I & II (MOML)

Two sources are combined to cover from the 17th century to the 20th century. 

Primary Sources I (1620- 1926)

This covers materials from the 17th century through 1920. The materials are an “archive of the published records of the American colonies, documents published by state constitutional conventions, state codes, city charters, law dictionaries, digests and more.”

Primary Sources II ( 1763 - 1970)

This covers materials from 18th century through the 1960's. The materials available come from constitutional convention and compilations, and include, U. S. state and territorial codes and municipal codes.

NatLaw World Database

The National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade’s NatLaw World Database is an online collection of laws, regulations, case law, and secondary source materials for countries in the Americas.  This collection, primarily in original language (Spanish or Portuguese) but with increasing numbers of materials translated into English, is arranged in over 25 topical areas related to trade and investment.

Please note this database is not comprehensive, but rather a select collection of major materials.

Social Science Citation Index

The Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) is a multidisciplinary database covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It is particularly suited to trace citations to authors and articles across publications. It indexes 1,700 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals.

Sociological Abstracts (via Web of Knowledge)

Sociological Abstracts Database is a primary resource for accessing the latest research sponsored in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. The database draws information from an international selection of over 2,600 journals and other serials publications, plus conference papers, books, and dissertations. Records added after 1974 contain in-depth and nonevaluative abstracts of journal articles.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is a world wide collaborative of leading scholars that is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research. It is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences. Each of SSRN's networks encourages the early distribution of research results by reviewing and publishing submitted abstracts and by soliciting abstracts of top quality research papers around the world. Syracuse University provides database with comprehensive information about federal staffing, spending and enforcement activities of the federal government. Compiles activity data and offers comparative analysis of data from the FBI, IRS, Drug Enforcement. In addition, information about specific statutes used in federal prosecutions and convictions with TRAC's About The Law tool.

U.S. Congressional Serial Set [via NewsBank]

The Readex/Newsbank U.S. Congressional Serial Set (1817 - 1980) will contain all publications from the 15th through the 96th Congresses, together with American State Papers (a retrospective collection of materials originating from 1789 through 1838 but published in the second quarter of the 19th century). The U.S. Congressional Serial Set the bound, sequentially numbered volumes of all the Reports, Documents and Journals of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives constitutes an incomparably rich collection of primary source material of all aspects of American history.

Ulrichsweb search the information about  periodicals (also called serials) of all types: academic and scholarly journals, e-journals, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and more.

Ulrich's records provide data points such as ISSN, publisher, language, subject, abstracting & indexing coverage, full-text database coverage, tables of contents, and reviews written by librarians.

There is NO full text search function or links to full text of the periodicals.  This resource is best used for locating information about a resource not for searching within a resource.
