Allen E. Broussard Scholarships

The goal of the Foundation is to provide scholarship assistance to minority law students attending San Francisco Bay Area law schools, based on academic performance, community service and financial need. The scholarships are intended to defray the costs of tuition and other related expenses for promising future lawyers whose academic achievements, dedication to public service and strong character are in keeping with the late Justice Broussard's beliefs.

The following criteria will be considered in awarding the scholarships:

a. Academic record (which may include, but is not limited to grades, participation in law review, moot court, or working as a teaching fellow);

b. Extracurricular activities (with emphasis on service oriented extracurricular activities directed towards the enhancement of opportunities for minorities);

c. Letters of recommendation;

d. Financial need; and

e. Applicant's essay
