King Hall Alumni in Phoenix

Cactus, desert sky, and King Hall alumni. That's what I encountered when I visited Phoenix last week for a lunch with area graduates of UC Davis School of Law.
Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations Jean Flournoy Korinke and I met with a great group of alums at Cheuvront Restaurant in Phoenix.
We had a wonderful guest speaker in the Honorable Scott Bales of the Arizona Supreme Court. Justice Bales and I were on the Harvard Law Review together. I like to joke that we were the two "westerners" on the Law Review - he attended Michigan State for undergrad, and I went to UC Berkeley. Justice Bales talked about a book he's reading called Five Minds for the Future, and how it's related to what we do as legal educators and practitioners.
Alums in attendance included Michael Kimerer '69, Jon Sands '84, Paul Norman '89, Marcia Kwasman Unell '93, and Timothy McCulloch '04.
Mike Kimerer is a graduate of the first class at King Hall. He is a former State Bar president and past president of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice. He has led various criminal justice tasks forces.
Jon Sands is the Federal Public Defender in Arizona. He helped us to plan this great event.
Everyone was excited to hear about our new building and the outstanding bar passage rate!
Before returning to Davis, we met with Greg Hing ‘90 in Scottsdale. Not only is he a King Hall alum, but he's also the nephew of Professor Bill Hing and classmate of Professor Amagda Perez ‘91!
