KHLF Auction 2016

The annual King Hall Legal Foundation (KHLF) auction is one of the highlights of the school year. This year, with the auction in the ARC Ballroom on the UC Davis campus, was no different. To help fund public interest fellowships for law students, donated items are auctioned off to the highest bidder. Students were dressed to the nines and set the tone for an impressive event.
Students and alums came together on a balmy Friday night to support a good cause. Some of the most sought after auction items involved faculty members, such as laser tag with Professor David Horton, wine tasting in a limousine with Professor Lisa Pruitt, "memorable" pictures of professors (Was that Floyd Feeney?), and golfing with Professors Clay Tanaka and Larry Green. There were many sports items available, including memorabilia from the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors.
We had a King Hall alumni meeting -- a really great and productive meeting -- earlier in the day, and several members of the board, including Bob Barton '88, Gene Woo '85, and Jerry Hobrecht '83 made it over to the public interest alumni/student reception immediately before the auction. Many law professors were at the reception and auction to support the students, including Professor Alan Brownstein, Carlton Larson, Jasmine Harris, Barbara Miltner, and others. Assistant Dean for Career Services Craig Compton (who donated a night out to see the Dodgers/Giants at AT&T Park in San Francisco), Director of Externships Sara Jackson, and others were in attendance. We also had some distinguished members of the community there, including Sacramento Superior Court Judge Steve Gevercer (father of 1L Ben Gevercer), Executive Director of Legal Services of Northern California Gary Smith, and others.
All in all, it was a great evening for the heart and soul of King Hall. The KHLF students should be commended on organizing such a great event!
