Justice Kathleen Butz '81 Leads Inn of Court

Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Jun 15, 2012

This week, the Schwartz Levi Inn of Court held its final meeting of the year.  The Inn is a group of lawyers, judges, students, and law professors who get together once a month to discuss topical legal issues.  The Inn regularly awards scholarships to our students.

At the last meeting, King Hall alum Justice Kathleen Butz ’81 (pictured above) officially succeeded Justice Vance Raye as President of the local chapter.  Another meeting highlight was the annual awards presentation for the best participants in events during the year.  The awards, previously called the SUDSYs, are now called the SLICs (for Schwartz Levi Inn of Court).  Professor Alan Brownstein was honored with a SLIC (a beer mug with an Inn of Court logo on it) for his participation on a panel dealing with con law issues.

You can see photos from Inn of Court events (some of which are held at King Hall) here:

I look forward to welcoming Inn members back to UC Davis School of Law for the chapter’s first gathering of the 2012-2013 program year, to be held on September 12 here at King Hall!
