Elvis Costello at the Mondavi Center

Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Sep 29, 2012

One of the great things about being on a college campus like UC Davis is the access to Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. On Friday, I watched Elvis Costello at the Mondavi Center and it brought back fond memories of my college days.

When I first heard his music, he was part of the "new wave," a more refined version of the music played at the burgeoning punk scene across the country.

Here is Costello performing earlier this year:

He opened the show with "Red Shoes".  See the 1977 version:

And one of his classics, Mystery Dance.

It was a great show!
