Business Litigation Panel
Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Aug 12, 2014
I recently attended the Civil Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association program titled, “10 Things Judges Can Do to Help Business Litigation Be More Efficient and Less Expensive.”
Among the panelists was Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Alan Perkins ’73, Judge John Mendez of the Eastern District of California (a good friend of King Hall), and prominent local lawyer (and former King Hall writing instructor – and my old running buddy) Ken Mennemeier. At lunch, I sat next to former Alumni Board President Steve Boutin ‘72, who was one of the founders of the Civil Section, and Dan Stouder ’03, another co-founder. Steve plans to run a marathon along the original course in Athens, Greece this fall. Judge Judy Hersher ’84 also was in attendance and had many thoughts for the panelists and the audience. It was a thought-provoking discussion that made me want to dust off my Civil Procedure and Complex Litigation notes to teach next year.
