Alumni Lunch in San Francisco

Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Oct 19, 2009

Lots of wonderful King Hall grads attended our alumni lunch in San Francisco on Friday.

We gathered at the Cosmopolitan Café on Spear Street on an uncharacteristically humid autumn day in the "City by the Bay."  I told our alumni about our great new building and our vision for the future of King Hall: to rise in the rankings, to continue to be committed to teaching excellence, to improve society through cutting edge research, and to maintain our commitment to diversity, excellence, and the King Hall community.

There were plenty of familiar faces, including Brandon Parris ‘98, a partner at Morrison & Foerster; Michael Futterman '83, founder of Futterman, Dupree, Dodd, Croley, & Maier; Traci Bone '94, Transmission and Renewables Advisor for the California Public Utilities Commission; David Lorie '96, General Counsel for Betawave Corporation; George Wolf '73, Chair of the Tax Group and the Corporate Tax Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco; Karen Dempsey '88, also a partner at Orrick in San Francisco; and Amy Briggs '97, managing partner of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips' San Francisco office.

I remember Amy well.  When she was a student at King Hall, she and I - along with Sergio O'Cadiz '96 and the King Hall Running Club - enjoyed some long runs from King Hall around the (dinky) Davis Airport.

It was great seeing everyone!
