Admitted Students Reception in SF

We had an energetic and enthusiastic group of alums and admitted students at an Admitted Students Reception at the San Francisco office of Fenwick and West last night.
Our gracious host, Bob Hulse '00, a partner at Fenwick, welcomed the group and told everyone about the Law School's long relationship with the firm. One of the Highlights of the reception was that the Chair of Fenwick and West, Gordy Davidson, stopped by to say hello. Many alums were in attendance, including Gene Woo '85 and Melissa Jones '99, two members of the alumni board. It was great to feel both the energy and enthusiasm of the alums for King Hall as well as the many admitted students who are looking forward to coming. We had an impressive group of alums in attendance, including three former Editors in Chief of the UC Davis Law Review: Errol Dauis '11, Ryan Stahl '09, and Patrick Wong '04.
There were admitted students in attendance from a diverse array of undergraduate schools including Trinity College, Bowdoin, Yale, Yonsei (Korea), UC San Diego, San Jose State, UC Berkeley and many more. One admitted student came all the way from Kuwait to attend the reception! The students were thrilled to have the chance to talk to a member of the faculty (Professor Chris Elmendorf). Some of the students arrived not quite sure about whether they would choose Davis but left secure in their choice to attend King Hall.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the 1L BBQ in August!
