A Visit with the Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation in Oakland
Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Dec 8, 2014
This past week, I was pleased to engage in outreach to the greater community. On Thursday, December 4, I made a presentation on the Obama administration's immigration initiatives to the Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation in the Fruitvale District of Oakland, a predominantly Latino enclave. Many community members were particularly interested in how the new deferred action program would work and whether the lawsuits challenging the President's action would prevail in the end.
