Signs of growth for litigation, bankruptcy law remains strong

The National Law Journal reports that the latest Hildebrant Peer Monitor index shows a 1.8% increase in demand for litigation in the first three quarters of 2009 over 2008 numbers.  During th same period, demand for bankruptcy services has increased 18%.  While data suggests demand for legal services in the Bay Area remain flat, the apparent growing demand for litigation may be a sign of recovery in legal employment.
