Good News for Cash-starved California Legal Non-Profits

The Recorder recently reported that California legal services organizations are seeing an influx of cash as part of a Cy Pres distribution from a tobacco-related settlement. California Rural Legal Assistance Director Jose Padilla described the funds as a "godsend," saving CRLA from significant cuts in service. King Hall's clinics, the Asian Law Caucus, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, and Bay Area Legal Aid are also among the recipients.
