John C. Schick
Teaching law has been one of the most rewarding parts of my legal experience. I have fond memories of the days at King Hall and am extremely grateful for the opportunity.
John Schick is a sole practitioner who does criminal defense work in Stockton, where he has practiced for the past 32 years. In addition to practice, John has been an adjunct professor of law at Humphrey's College of Law in Stockton. He has taught contracts, article 2 of the UCC, legal writing, criminal law and procedure, and criminal appellate practice over the last three decades.
Many of his students have gone on to legal careers where he regularly encounters them. Some have ascended the bench here in Stockton and neighboring communities also. John also met his wife of 34 years, Katherine, while a student at King Hall. She has earned a PhD in entomology and has taught biology courses and works at the Essig Museum of Entomology in Berkeley. John and Katherine have one son, Jeff, who is a computer programmer and lives in North Carolina. Jeff and his wife are expecting their first child (and John and Kathy's first grandchild) this November. It will be a girl.
