King Hall, California Environmental Law and Policy Center Host Planning and Conservation League Annual Symposium

UC Davis School of Law and the California Environmental Law & Policy Center hosted and cosponsored the Planning and Conservation League's 2014 Environmental Symposium, "Water for Life: Towards an Equitable and Sustainable Water Future for California," at King Hall on February 1. The highly successful event brought together hundreds of elected officials, environmental professionals, lawyers, scholars, business representatives, and members of the public.

Panelists discussed the Bay-Delta Conservation Plan, the 2014 Water Bond, how the California Environmental Quality Act relates to water policy and other environmental issues, water pricing, the future of water and energy, and many other important topics. During lunch in the UC Davis Conference Center, the PCL presented awards to Assembly Member and incoming Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins, Assembly Member Mark Stone, Former Assembly Member Mike Eng, and the California American Water Company for their work on water issues.  The symposium concluded with a plenary session looking at the future of the Delta.  At the end of the day, attendees mingled at a reception held at King Hall.
